BHK Cell Culture Product Introduction: BHK cells (Baby Hamster Kidney Cells) were established in 1961 and are fibroblastic cells with adhesive properties. In 1963, the BHK-21 monoclonal cell line was obtained, and after several passages, these cells could grow in suspension. This cell line is sensitive to various viruses and widely used in virus vaccine production, such as foot-and-mouth disease vaccines and rabies vaccines. It can also be used to amplify pseudorabies virus, Newcastle disease virus, duck plague virus, and more. Based on the growth characteristics of BHK-21 cells, our company has developed a serum-free and protein-free BHK-21 cell culture medium.
This medium can support the suspension culture of various BHK-21 cell lines from different sources, maintaining a high growth rate. The maximum cell density for multiple cell lines can exceed 1.0×10^7 cells/ml, with cell viability consistently above 95%. This medium supports large-scale bioreactor amplification, with a culture scale of up to 6000L or more.
